Wanderous L Dozhier

Wanderous (Wanda) Lewana Dozhier, age 92. Passed away peacefully in Lodi, Ca. surrounded by those who loved and cared for her. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Velma and Joe Gay; brother, Thomas Gay; and Husband Julius (Sherlock) Dozhier. Wanda is survived by four sons; Carlos, Joel, Randall, and Steven, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Wanda was born in, Durant, OK, attend school and grew up on a farm in Finley, OK, until she moved to California where she met and married Julius Dozhier. Eventually location in Galt, Ca. Wanda was active in the lives of her sons. Their home was the gathering place for all her boys, friends and she treated everyone as if they were her own.

Wanda work as a nursing assistance and home health aide until she retired. Residents in the care facility could tell when Ms. Dozhier was working by her distinct voice ringing up and down the hallways; laughing and telling them it was time to eat or go to therapy.

After retirement, Wanda worked with Meals on Wheels, the Galt Women’s Center, and the clubhouse where she lived; staying busy, always in charge. Wanda loved working outside in the garden and pruning her beautiful red geraniums. She was proud of her yard and her beautiful red geraniums. Wanda loved to read. She surrounded herself with books; at anytime day or night you would find her reading.

Wanda enjoyed serving others, lending a hand, sharing her spicy personality, and telling stories of times past on the farm.
