Rosa Huisman Obituary

Obituary for Rosie Sanez Huisman

Rosie Sanez Huisman was born on May 11, 1930 in
Imus, Cavite, Philippine Islands to Leon and Asuncion
Jarin Sanez. She came to the United States in the fall
of 1979 and was married to Freeman Huisman in
December, 1979.

They lived in Sacramento and then Herald, California.
Then moved to Chicago, Illinois where both Rosie and
Freeman worked on the locks between Lake Michigan
and the Chicago River. When that job ended they
returned to Sacramento, California and cared for
Freeman’s mother, Harmka at their home. When
Harmka passed away in June of 1994, they moved to
the Huisman farm in Prairie Farm, Wisconsin. They
returned to Herald, California. Rosie lived there until
she died.

Rosie grew up in a family of 7 children. Her oldest
sister, Ligaya Sanez, met the Gospel while living in
Manilla, Philippine Islands around 1945. She later went
in the work. She asked the workers, Howard Iorger
(Yerger) and Hubert Sylvester, to go to her hometown
of Cavite and have Gospel meetings. Rosie and her
sister Mila made their choice in those meetings in
1945. She finished faithfully 77 years later.

Rosie enjoyed having company both in the Philippines
and the United States. She was a very good cook and
made Filipino food for all of us. She taught others to
make chicken adobo, pancit, lumpia and leche flan.
Rosie always worked hard. She would have a big
garden and raise chickens. She was also a very good
seamstress.

Freeman and Rosie had Sunday morning Fellowship
meeting in Sacramento and Bible Study in Herald. She
was able to go to both Modesto and Folsom Special
Meetings this year.

We will all miss her. She leaves behind three sisters,
Mila and Dalisay of the Philippines and Virginia of San
Lorenzo, California; her caregiver of many years,
Betty Lalani and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Freeman;
parents Leon and Asuncion; sister Ligaya; brothers
Rudy, Hubert, and his son Hubert Sanez Jr.
