Ruth Louise Johnson of Galt, California died on the first day of July, 2024.  She was preceded in death by her middle daughter, Deborah Fenston and is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Michael Johnson, and daughters Sage (Bob) DeRosier and Stephanie Johnson. Ruth is also survived by her treasured grandchildren: Marcus (Lean) Feliciano, Daniel (Gabby) Feliciano, and Sarah Fenston, two great grandchildren, and a host of loving cousins and extended family.  

Originally from the Washington, D.C area, Ruth was a fun-loving Aquarius and an ambitious dreamer of big dreams. She was a dedicated foster parent in the 1970’s, nurturing and caring for many struggling young women who had been thrust into the California foster care system. She was an extraordinarily charming, engaging woman who pursued and achieved her bachelor’s degree at St. Mary’s College and then worked in the fields of marketing and education until she retired. 

Ruth was a dedicated, supportive friend, champion of students, long-time parrot owner, and absolutely adored her shar-pei Rhino. She loved getting her hair and nails done and was an expert at looking stylish and well put together.

Ruth was all about loving her family, enjoying warm connections, and always helping others. Her magnetic aliveness, fierce tenacity to be of service, and playfully fun nature will be missed by so many.
