RICHARD DALE ROTHENBERGER

Richard Dale Rothenberger, 95 years old, entered heaven to rest on July 27,2024. He was born in Greenridge, Mo., October 1, 1928, to parents Irma Westphall Rothenberger and Paul Rothenberger. He was a man of many talents and interests. He farmed at his home in Missouri and worked for Missouri Pacific Railroad until needed by Uncle Sam for the US Navy during the Korean War. He proudly served his country. He met his wife, Freda Sumpter and they were married on October 8, 1954, in Merced, CA. They then moved to Galt, where he worked on a ranch as a cowboy, he loved it. He changed careers, attending Stockton Junior College and graduating from Sacramento State College to become a teacher. Dale taught at Galt Elementary, and then went on to teach in Isleton until his retirement in 1984. His next career was a volunteer fireman at Galt Fire Department. He served as a volunteer captain and retired from that job after 20 years. Dale also served the community for many years with the Galt Concilio. He was a very active member at Galt Bible Church, where he served on the Church board, taught Sunday School and was involved with the Awana Program. He loved the Lord with all his heart.

He is survived by his wife, Freda, daughters Janet (Curt) Pittman of Galt, Carleen (Dan)Murphy of Tampa, FL, Karen (Donny) Gleason of Galt, and son Tony (Lori) Rothenberger of Lodi. Grandchildren are Hannah Muth, Raychel Jackson, Elijah Murphy, Wesley Pittman, Katie Pilcher, Jesse Murphy, Luke Murphy, Brian DeHart, Rio Rothenberger- Moreno, and Cody Pittman. He also had 25 great grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and many “adopted” grandchildren. Dale was preceded by his parents and eight siblings.

A memorial Service will be held at Galt Bible Church on Saturday, August 10th at 11:00. Burial will be a private family service.
