RICHARD MICHAEL MELLO JR

Richard (Mike) Michael Mello Jr. passed peacefully Saturday, June 22,
2024, following a relatively short illness. Mike was born October 24,
1954 in Sacramento to Richard Sr. and Gweneth Mello. Mike was the
first of five, paving the way for his three younger brothers and one
sister. Mike enjoyed music, puzzles and games. Mike was 69 years old,
but the child in him emerged every time he was able to play with his
great nieces and nephews as he proclaimed to be the “Favorite Uncle”.
But most of all, he loved to share and even boast, about his son, Mike.
His face lit up each time “Mikey” would call. Mike would announce “It’s
my son!” as he answered the phone. Mike is preceded in death by his
parents, brothers Anthony (Tony) and Neal. He is survived by his son
Richard III (Yejin), brother, Aaron, and sister, Dana; nieces Apryl (Greg),
Danielle (Nickolas), Destiny, Monae (Chris), Briana (Bryan) Samantha
and Jennifer (Mark); nephews Nicholas (Paige), Alex, AJ, great-nieces
Ava, Riley, Savannah, Evelyn, Harlie, Bailey, Gwen and Riley Quinn;
Great-nephews Josiah, Grayson, Bryan, James, and Nash, as well as
many aunts, uncles, cousins, and fabulous friends. No services are
planned at this time.
