Obituary for Opal Lucille Driscoll (1941-2025)
Opal Lucille Driscoll, a beloved member of the community, passed away peacefully on April 21,
2025. Born on May 4, 1941, Opal lived a life filled with love and compassion and had a large and
lasting impact on those around her.
Opal was known for her warm heart, generous spirit, and love of children. She touched the lives
of many who attended her daycare, grew up with her children, and participated in community
events alongside her.
Opal was born to Leonard Porter and Sarah Scudder. She was one of six children with her
brothers Stuart, Ronald, and Donald and her sisters Penny and Dixie in Peoria, Illinois.
Opal married Charles James Driscoll in 1966. Together, they built a family, raising two sons, Sean
Patrick Driscoll and Ryan Timmothy Driscoll. Opal was a devoted mother, always prioritizing her
children’s needs and nurturing their dreams. Her grandchildren Sean Driscoll Jr., Brandon
Driscoll and Trevor Driscoll were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with
them.
Opal demonstrated her love for children by running a daycare center. She created lasting
relationships with those children which lasted well into the last years of her life. Opal also sold
real estate for several years. She enjoyed helping families find and buy their dream house and
create a foundation for their future.
Opal Lucille Driscoll is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Sarah, her husband
Charles, her brother Ronald, and her sister Penny. She is survived by her children Sean and
Ryan; her grandchildren, Sean Jr., Brandon, and Trevor; and her siblings, Stuart, Donald, and
Dixie. We will deeply miss her but will forever remember her with love.
A celebration of Opal’s life will be on May 10, 2025, 11:00 AM at Horizon Community Church
446 Fairway Dr, Galt, CA 95632.
