MARK EARL MCCUNE

MARK EARL McCUNE
1954-2024

On April 15, after a long illness, Mark went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ. He
loved Jesus and loved to tell others about Him. He also loved to organize a Bible study
wherever he was. In his free time, he loved to tinker with his collection of model trains.
He was a big Giants and 49ers fan.
Mark was born on February 5, 1954 in Sacramento. After living in Sacramento and
Quincy the first five years of his life, the family moved to the Galt and Herald areas in
1960. He attended first Galt Elementary, then Arcohe Elementary, and Galt High
School. He played football and baseball earning All-League honors in football his senior
year.
After graduation, he began his career in driving trucks. First, he drove for his dad at
Guthmiller Trucking and then eventually out of state with companies such as
International Transport and Pirkle and last with Cardinal Glass in Galt. He owned
several trucks in his career and loved to drive them.
He is survived by his mother Grace, brothers Mike, Pat, and Gary and sisters-in-law
Anne (Dunn) McCune, Robin (Reed) McCune, and Jennifer (McCoy) McCune. Nieces
and nephews Rosie, Michael, Joshua, Matthew, Zach, Kristina and two great nieces
and eight great nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 28 at 11:00 at the Herald Baptist
Church.
