MARION GUERRERO Obituary

MARION ELIZABETH GUERRERO / HER STORY

Marion Elizabeth Guerrero was born on May 20, 1933, to Gladys Marie Long in San Jose, California. Her parents and her siblings preceded her in death. Marion attended elementary and high schools in the South Bay and later attended West Valley College where she received a certificate to work as a licensed CNA. She would often tell people, "I spent nine years working Geriatrics." She worked in various vocations throughout her adult life. While in high school, she met the love of her life. Benjamin A Guerrero Sr. and they were married in 1950. Together they built a loving home and raised six children. Ben and Marion celebrated 52 years of marriage before hos passing in September 2002. Marion spent her early years living in San Jose, Ca, but also loved in Phoenix, Az, Clearlake, San Martin, and Elk Grove, Ca. Her last five weeks on this earth were with her daughter Karen living in Greenfield, Ca.

Marion accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior in May of 1957, and attended several churches in the Bay Area and in Clearlake, Ca. She served alongside her husband as a Pastor's wife for many years, and served the Lord by teaching Sunday School, singing, working in Women's Ministries, and volunteering wherever needed in her church. Marion was a prayer warrior and often prayed for her family and friends. She would often say, "I've been praying for my kids and my family every day!" In her last days of life, she found the strength to encourage her grandchildren to "keep God first" in their lives.

Marion was a gifted seamstress and crocheter. Many people have been blessed to receive a pair of booties, wedding pillows, hats, scarves, ornaments, and quilts & blankets as gifts of love from Marion. She was also a great cook and loved to prepare meals for her family and friends. Her homemade tortillas were the best ever! While we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the incredible 91 years of life she lived and the indelible mark she leaves on our hearts.

Marion was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin A Guerrero, Sr. her older daughter Constance H (Danny) Salazar, passed February 2022, her youngest son Jeffery A (Marina) Guerrero, passed December 1998. She leaves four children to cherish her memory: Benjamin Amelio (Karen A.) Guerrero, Jr., Timothy Bruce (Deborah) Guerrero, Ronald Mark (Gloria) Guerrero, and Karen Ruth (Mark) McClure, 19 grandchildren, 41 (and counting) great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson, and lots of extended family and friends.
