John (Jack ) Kasper, 86 passed away at home in Galt, CA on February 24, 2023. He was born in
Homestead, PA and was a lifelong Pittsburg Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates fan. He lived in Homestead
until joining the Navy after graduating from high school. He married his wife, Lois , in 1961 and they
were married for 52 years. His career in naval communications spanned 30 years, ending with his last
post at Rough and Ready Island in Stockton.
After retiring from the Navy, he went to work in sales for Sprint where his love for talking to people was
practiced daily. When he retired from Sprint, his time was spent fishing with Lois, golfing, and playing
poker with his friends. He also made friends around Galt as he made his daily lottery runs. Jack was a
member of the Knights of Columbus and was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church.
He is survived by his children Judi Sanders (Craig), Mike Kasper, and Jackie Fry (Oscar); grandchildren
Regan, Kyle, and Luke Fry ; brother Ken Kasper (Cheryl); and nieces Chrissy Fallon and Kelly Kasper.
Jack will be deeply missed by his family and friends. There will be a rosary at 10:30am with a funeral Mass
at 11:00am on Friday, March 10th, at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Galt, CA.
The family request in lieu of flowers that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Knights of
Columbus at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church.
