Gary C. Berreth

Gary Clarence Berreth was born on September 12, 1941, to Clarence and Hildegard
Berreth, in Lodi, California. He went home to be with the Lord on November 2, 2024.
He grew up in the Lodi and Galt Area and graduated from Galt High School. Several
years after graduation he met Peggy Linneman, and they were married in 1965.
Gary worked for Lodi Iron Works for several years, then he worked for Wilson Electric.
After Wilson Electric, he was hired by the City of Galt. He worked for the city for 34
years in the Public Works Department and operated the Street Sweeper for many of
those years. He loved driving tractors and heavy equipment.
Gary was a member of Galt Bible Church – worked with the Youth, Awana Clubs, and
served on the Church Board. He came to know Jesus as his Savior at an early age and
loved to share his faith with others. He also was a member of the Galt Area Historical
Society where he served as President for several years. He loved spending time with
family and friends.
Gary is survived by his wife of 59 years, Peggy; his daughter, Rhonda Jeffries and
husband Dean of Granbury, Texas; son, Kevin Berreth and wife, Valerie, of Acampo,
CA. Four grandchildren, Terrance Burks of Tehachapi, CA, Dean Jeffries, Cole Berreth,
and Samantha Berreth. His brother, Terry Berreth, and wife Laura, of Copperopolis, CA;
Sister-in-law, Diane Witt of Galt and many nieces and nephews and cousins.
There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, November 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Galt Bible
Church, 801 Church Street.
