GAIL DARLENE GODWIN

Gail Darlene Winters Godwin, 80, of Galt, passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by family, on November 25,2025.

Gail was born in Turlock, California, on December 16, 199, to John and Nadine Winters. She moved to Galt in the 1950s and graduated from Galt Hight School in 1962. Gail went on to attend Delta College, earning an AA degree in Computer Science.

She met the love of her life, David Godwin, and the two married in 1964. Gail was a devoted wife and a loving mother. She was a stay-at-home mom while her daughters were young and later worked for 10 years as a secretary at Brookside Christian High School.

Gail was a dedicated member of Galt Bible Church, where she served as a youth leader for more than 20 years. She enjoyed decorating the church, helping with meals, and was always ready to lend a helping hand wherever she needed.

She loved shopping and took the phrase “shop till you drop” literally and found joy in cooking, crafts, and sewing. Gail also loved traveling, dirt bike riding, and one of her favorite things to do was go on cruises with family or friends. She cherished camping with her family and enjoyed playing games with everyone. Creative, dependable, kind and generous, Gail made everyone around her feel loved and welcomed.

Gail is survived by her husband, David Godwin, her daughters, Michelle Patterson and Lisa Caro del Castillo, and Marissa Caro del Castillo. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Nadine Winters, and her sister, Carol Nix.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 20th, at 11:00 a.m. at Galt Bible Church, 801 Church Street, Gail will deeply be missed by her family, church community, and all who were blessed to know her.
