Elizabeth Jewel Frantson

Elizabeth Jewel Frantson was born on May 05, 1925, to Virgie and Arthur Chaney at Cotton Center, Texas. She was the oldest girl of six siblings: older brother Glendon Chaney, then Calvin Chaney, Judith Wipfli, Sarah Kearney, Bessie Lee and Tex Chaney.

Jewel went to school in Cotton Center until the age of 10, then moved around several places in Texas. Hearing from family in California, at the age of 17 the family moved to California where jewel went to work at Camp Hern Army Camp as a clerk typist until the family moves to Galt because they had family here.

It was here in Galt at the Christian church in town on Easter Sunday in 1947 that she met Glenn Frantson. They were married in February 1948 and honeymooned in San Francisco, making their first home in Galt. They had three children: Glenda, Melody and Ron.

Jewel was a mother, a room mother at school, a Bluebird Leader, a Sunday School teacher: sang in the choir and was church hostess for the Galt Bible Church for years. She loved being a hostess, decorating and helping plan the children’s weddings.

Jewel was very talented, she loved to sew, cook, crochet, do craftwork, do puzzles. She loved doing word puzzles too, card games, board games. Jewel was also a huge Dallas Cowboy fan.

Glenn and jewel got to traveled to every state, even Hawaii when their children took them to celebrate their 60th wedding Anniversary. They went to Canada, even got to go to the Worlds Fair there and Mexico. They really enjoyed Disneyland, Knox Berry Farm, and Dollywood.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Glenn Frantson, father, Arthur Chaney, mother, Virgie Chaney, Brothers Glendon and Calvin, Sisters Judith and Sarah.

She is survived by one sister, Bessie and one brother, Tex. Also surviving her are her children, Glenda, husband Robert; their children, April, Amy, Anna, Aaron. Melody, husband Stephen; their children, Jared, Joel and Ron, wife Myla and their children Eric and Heather. Six great grandchildren also survive her, Dakota, Kylie, Noah, Oliver, Bruce and Pete.
