Dionicio Burciaga Jaime

Dionicio Jaime, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025, at the age of 81. He was born on October 9, 1943, in Chihuahua, Mexico, to Refugio and Francisca Jaime.

Dionicio's life was defined by his devotion to his faith, family, and community. He married Rosa Pedroza on October 23, 1963, and together they raised seven children: Javier Jaime, Matilde Barrera, Sergio Jaime, Elsa Ramirez, Maria Jaime, Edgar Jaime, and their late daughter, Dora Elsa, who tragically passed away in infancy. Dionicio was a loving and dedicated father whose deep commitment to his family was evident in every aspect of his life.

In the early 1970s, Dionicio made the courageous decision to start a new life in the United States, working hard to provide for his family and build a future filled with love and support. His selflessness, generosity, and dedication to those he loved left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

A devout parishioner of St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Galt, Dionicio was also a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, where he generously gave his time to support charitable causes. His kindness, compassion, and willingness to help others were qualities that defined him, and he was always there for family, friends, and neighbors in need.

Dionicio’s love for his family extended beyond his children to his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him great joy. He was also known for his eagerness to volunteer and offer his time wherever it was needed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Refugio and Francisca Jaime, and his daughter, Dora Elsa. He is survived by his loving wife, Rosa; his six surviving children; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; extended family; and many dear friends who will miss him deeply.

A viewing will take place on Wednesday, January 15, from noon to 3 p.m. at Ben Salas Funeral Home. The funeral will take place on Thursday, January 16, following a rosary service at 10:30 a.m. at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Galt.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Knights of Columbus charities, an organization that was close to Dionicio’s heart.

Dionicio will be deeply missed, but his love, faith, and generosity will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Dionicio Jaime, querido esposo, padre, abuelo, bisabuelo y amigo, falleció pacíficamente el 5 de enero de 2025, a la edad de 81 años. Nació el 9 de octubre de 1943, en Chihuahua, México, hijo de Refugio y Francisca Jaime.

La vida de Dionicio estuvo definida por su devoción a su fe, su familia y su comunidad. Se casó con Rosa Pedroza el 23 de octubre de 1963, y juntos criaron a seis hijos: Javier Jaime, Matilde Barrera, Sergio Jaime, Elsa Ramírez, María Jaime y Edgar Jaime. Dionicio fue un padre amoroso y dedicado, cuyo profundo compromiso con su familia se reflejaba en todos los aspectos de su vida.

A principios de la década de 1970, Dionicio tomó la valiente decisión de comenzar una nueva vida en los Estados Unidos, trabajando arduamente para proveer a su familia y construir un futuro lleno de amor y apoyo. Su desinterés, generosidad y dedicación a los que amaba dejaron un impacto duradero en todos los que lo conocieron.

Fue un devoto feligrés de la Iglesia Católica de San Cristóbal en Galt, y también fue Caballero de Cuarto Grado de los Caballeros de Colón, donde generosamente dio su tiempo para apoyar causas benéficas. Su bondad, compasión y disposición para ayudar a los demás fueron cualidades que lo definieron, y siempre estuvo allí para su familia, amigos y vecinos en necesidad.

El amor de Dionicio por su familia se extendió más allá de sus hijos a sus muchos nietos y bisnietos, quienes le brindaron gran alegría. También era conocido por su entusiasmo por ser voluntario y ofrecer su tiempo donde fuera necesario.

Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Refugio y Francisca Jaime y también su hija, Dora Elsa. Le sobreviven su amada esposa, Rosa; sus seis hijos; sus nietos y bisnietos; familia extendida; y muchos amigos queridos que lo extrañarán profundamente.

En lugar de flores, la familia pide que se hagan donaciones a las organizaciones benéficas de los Caballeros de Colón, una organización que estaba muy cerca del corazón de Dionicio.

Se celebrará un servicio conmemorativo en la Iglesia Católica de San Cristóbal en Galt el 16 de enero a las 10:30 am para honrar su vida y legado.

Dionicio será profundamente extrañado, pero su amor, fe y generosidad vivirán en los corazones de todos los que lo conocieron.
